Torsten Rex
IT lead at ROTOP Pharmaka, about a year in the role, reporting into Hendrike Heinrich (IT/Ops area). His scope: maintain existing infrastructure and help build the new R&D organisation on a production-ready footing. He is Gemma’s main technical counterpart on the engagement.
Prior experience: built agent-based systems at a healthcare software company (ticket-triage automation and procurement-tender analysis, parsing 120+ requirements against product specs via LLM, cutting manual PM review from three days to 30 minutes), plus audio/sensor data work at engineering firms. He sees IT as an enabler function, not a cost centre, and wants to find replicable automation patterns (like Julia’s Sage CSV importer) and roll them out.
Notes
His framing from the kickoff: ROTOP has two data buckets, structured ERP data (Business Central, Sage) and unstructured ops/production data in file directories (OT/sensor data, GLT, production records). Missing structured systems: no CRM, no MES, no LIMS. He wants a lakehouse layer decoupled from source systems with Claude on top, and is filling the foundational gaps first (CRM, then discoverable production data).
He owns the data-access path: the one-time BC + Sage dump onto a ROTOP-controlled Linux server (hosted at Strato), with Gemma reaching it over SSH plus IP whitelisting. He pre-reviewed Gemma’s AVV clause by clause and coordinated the MDG dump. He was receptive to the Snowflake / dbt Cloud / GitHub stack (“lerne was Neues”).
